As you may have heard, a group of clergy have signed an open letter to the bishops of the world charging them to correct Pope Francis. The letter accuses His Holiness of material heresy (or as the letter puts it “the canonical delict of heresy”), which is an impressive charge to lay at His Holiness’ feet.
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts and criticisms of the letter. Further, should His Holiness remain silent on the matter, it would be causing grave scandal to the Faithful, but I saw someone on our Discord suggest that silence or refusal to answer would result in His Holiness’ being a formal heretic, and I’d be very interested to hear more on the matter.
