On Race and its Role in the Faith

There is an increasingly prevalent view, perpetuated through the various media we consume, that one's race and circumstances are an inescapable destiny that predetermines how one lives, what one does, and how one goes about doing it. Though there is some truth to the stereotypes (African-American men abandoning their families, white men having more successful lives, Asians being gifted mathematicians, etc.), it is something that we, as Christians should be striving against at all levels.
